  • Potato starch is starch extracted from Potatoes. To exact the starch, the potatoes are crushed, the starch grains are released from the destroyed cells. The starch is then washed out and dried to powder.

    Potato starch is very refined starch, containing minimal protein or fat. This gives the powder a clear white color, and the cooked starch typical characteristics of neutral taste, good clarity, high binding strength and long texture.

    Applications

    As an additive for food processing, food starches are typically used as thickeners and stabilizers in foods such as Puddings, custards, soups, Sauces, Gravies, Pie Fillings, Salad Dressings, Noodles and Pastas, Potato starch and potato derivatives are used in many recipes.
    For example Wine gums, cocktail Nuts, potato chips, Hog Dog sausages and Bakery Cream.
  • Potato Flakes/Granules/Powder

    To make the granules, the potato have their skins steamed off. Then they are cut up, briefly blanched in water, and then cooled and then oiled to a mash and mixed with previously dried potatoes, and flash-dried.
